International Symposium on Plastic Surgery - University of Bologna Italy

Mr Turner recently attended the XI Congress of Italian and American Plastic Surgeons at the University of Bologna Italy.

Attended by some of the world’s best, this conference brought to light new innovations and research in reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery. Extremely exciting developments in the use of fat stem cell transfer show this to be the way both now and in the future for healing and rejuvenation.  Please refer to the Fat Transfer procedure page on this website for further information.

Most exciting of all, in the near future in Australia, we expect to see fat stem cell transfer used for non-surgical breast reconstruction.  Already in use in the USA the results presented at the conference were phenomenal.

Why the University of Bologna?

The University of Bologna dates from AD 1088 and is recognized as the oldest known university in the western world. It has one of the world's oldest medical schools.

The first studies of plastic surgery at the university were completed by Gaspare Tagliacozzi in the 16th Century however the university became famous for its anatomical research.
